Neeraj Chopra begins ‘2022’ voyage

California: India’s golden boy Neeraj Chopra has begun his 90-day off-season training at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Centre in California. The 23-year-old has initiated his preparation for the 2022 World Athletics Championships, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Games in that famous training center.

“It’s time to put the past to rest and focus on the future. Have arrived for my off-season training and look forward to restarting the process of getting better. Immensely grateful to DG sir, @Media_SAI, the TOPS and @afiindia teams and everyone involved in making this happen”, stated the Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Chopra on Twitter.

The 90-day camp will come to a close On March 4, 2021. It will boost Chopra in his preparations for the gruelling season ahead, which includes the World Championships in Oregon, the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Coach Klaus Bartonietz is also accompanying Neeraj Chopra on his trip. On Friday, the Sports Authority of India accepted a proposal allowing Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra to visit the United States of America.
