Kolkata : Former Indian speedster Munaf Patel has been appointed as Delhi Capitals Bowling coach for IPL 2025.
The World Cup 2011 winning pacer will replace James Hopes as bowling coach , who left the franchise with Ricky Pointing after IPL 2024 failure.
Munaf will join fresh Delhi Capitals coaching staffs with likes of head coach Hemang Badani and team director Venugopal Rao.
Earlier, the franchise parted ways with head coach Ricky Ponting, Bowling coach James Hopes post IPL 2024. They also released their skipper Rishabh Pant ahead of IPL 2025 auction and retained Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, Abhishek Porel (uncapped).
Munaf played his last IPL game in 2018 and hasn’t taken high level coaching roles since then. He has featured in number of leagues of retired players.
For India, he has featured in 86 matches with 125 scalps.
He has been vital part of ICC WC 2011 winning team and won IPL couple of times in 2008 (For Rajasthan Royals) and 2013 (For Mumbai Indians).
With a comparatively new coaching set up, Delhi Capitals will look to turn their fortunes this season.
