Mohammad Siraj, Jos Buttler star as Gujarat Titans break Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s winning run in IPL 2025

Bengaluru : Gujarat Titans defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru by 8 Wickets. Jos Buttler’s half century and Mohammad Siraj’s 3-fer ended RCB’s winning run in IPL 2025.

RCB were put to Bat first. They came with lots of confidence after defeating KKR and CSK in their respective home grounds.

GT pacer Mohammad Siraj, former RCB player, who played for 7 years in the team rattled his ex franchise’s top order taking Phil Salt and Devdutt Padikkal’s wickets, cleaning them up with yorker. Arshad Khan also dismissed Virat Kohli early. After powerplay, skipper Rajat Patidar departed off Ishant Sharma, as the home team were reduced to 42-4 (6.2).

Liam Livingstone (54) & Jitesh Sharma (33) brought RCB back on track with 51(38) runs partnership.

Although the game got struck yet again in the middle due to fall of Jitesh and Krunal Pandya, Livingstone and Tim David (32) ensured respectable total of 169-8 (20) for RCB.

Md Siraj finished with spell of 3/19 in 4 overs, taking 3rd wicket of Livingstone. Sai Kishore picked 2-fer.

Chasing 170, GT lost skipper Shubman Gill (14) early. Sai Sudarshan (49) & Jos Buttler (73*) notched 75 (47) runs partnership, avoiding any unnecessary pressure on GT.

After Sudarshan’s dismissal, Sherfane Rutherford (30*) accompanied Buttler for 63 (32) runs match winning partnership.

Buttler’s knock of 73* (39) included 6 sixes and 5 boundaries, as GT chased down the target in 17.5 overs, to earn 2 consecutive wins, earning him man of the match.
