Liverpool: Sadio Mane scored his 100th for Liverpool, as they cruised past Crystal Palace with a 3-0 victory at Anfield. Southampton held Manchester City to a goalless draw, in an underwhelming performance from the defending champions on Saturday in Premier League.

Mane opened the scoring for Jurgen Klopp’s men on 43 minutes when Vincente Guaita parried Mohamed Salah’s header on his path and the deadlock was broken. Salah and Naby Kieta also scored a goal each, after the first half break.

Hence Liverpool’s unbeaten run start to the ongoing Premier League continued as they moved to the top of the table for the time being as Palace slipped down to 14th place. Elsewhere, City fumbled in the hands of Southampton in a frustrating draw for the Citizens.

Coming back from the UEFA Champions League with a euphoric win against RB Leipzig, City halted against Southampton. City had only one shot on target, their lowest tally since March of 2017. Kyle Walker had his red card overturned by the VAR.

Pep Guardiola made five changes to the side which won against Leipzig, but the results did not follow. A lackluster show from the defending champions only had one shot on target a 90th-minute header from Phil Foden saved by the goalkeeper eventually scored by Raheem Sterling but was ruled out due to offside.

Martin Odegaard shone for Arsenal as he scored the only goal in 30 minutes, as they won the match 1-0 against Burnley. After having lost the opening three matches of the Premier League, Mikel Arteta’s side was under immense pressure. They followed up their victory against Norwich City, with the victory against Burnley courtesy of a beautiful freekick from Odegaard.

On the other hand, Everton suffered a 3-0 setback from Aston Villa whereas Brentford defeated Wolves 2-0. As for Leeds United, they had to share points with New Castle after a 1-1 draw.
