Hyderabad : Indian Super League (ISL) giants ATK Mohun Bagan are ready to sign Hyderabad marquee forward Liston Colaco over a record transfer fee against a domestic player in Indian football.
Finishing as the runners-up in the 2020-21 season of ISL, the Mariners have made e big summer transfer keeping eyes on the next season.
They are all set to introduce one of Indian football’s hottest prospects in 22-year-old Colaco. In doing so, they are about to break the Indian football record for the highest transfer fee for an Indian player in excess of INR 1 Cr to Hyderabad.
Colaco has spent his last three seasons at FC Goa before making a move to Hyderabad in the year 2019 in search of first-team minutes. After having failed to start a single game for the Gaurs, Colaco made an impact while he was with the Hyderabad team and impressed the footballing realm with his displays that had a lot of flair on the field. In two seasons, he has completed 23 appearances starting 11 of them. He also scored four goals and bagged three assists in his ISL career so far.
Hyderabad FC issued a statement in which they stated, “With a focus on long-term sustainability, Hyderabad FC agreed for Liston’s move in a deal that fetches the highest-ever transfer fee received for an Indian player.
