Silverstone: Lewis Hamilton experienced the most dramatic climax of his career as he lifted the British Grand Prix with limping with three-wheels on Sunday night (August 2). The World Champion had to drag his Mercedes across the finishing line as a gave out during the last lap.

“That is the most dramatic ending to a race I remember having. It was heated, a real challenge. I was super cool during the whole experience. I guess it hadn’t really sunk in, then afterwards it started to dawn on me what I had just faced so I had a delayed reaction,” said Hamilton lifting his 7th British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Meanwhile, the Briton has stressed the importance of following through with Formula One’s ‘End Racism’ message after drivers showed a more united front at the British Grand Prix. The drivers presented their statements on anti-racism and took a knee before the race. All drivers lined up wearing ‘End Racism’ t-shirt as Hamilton, Kevin Magnussen, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Kimi Räikkönen, Daniil Kvyat, Carlos Sainz and Antonio Giovinazzi took a knee at the end of the presentation.

“It’s important we need to continue to keep that up because we have this incredible platform. So many people are watching, everyone needs to be reminded how serious things can be and it’s important that they (F1) follow through on the promises they have said before the first race in attacking the issue in our industry so that will be an ongoing discussion. I feel confident we are moving towards it,” he said.

This win gave Hamilton a major lead in the title race for World Champion with his team Mercedes having a clean sheet over the rest of the field.
