Paris: The Tour De France completed its 16th stage yesterday with Germany’s Lennard Kämna taking the pole position. The young rider from the team Bora-Hansgrohe claimed his maiden win of this grand tour as he powered through everyone on the penultimate climb finishing ahead of Richard Antonio Carapaz of Ecuador.

His solo effort throughout the final phase of the stage after breaking away from the bunch sprinkled excitement on the few spectators who gathered to see the race. Even the commentator from UCI’s broadcasters quoted in utter joy. “He sits up if anyone can, Kämna can. He wins stage 16 of Tour De France”.

While everyone’s eyes were on the star riders of Kämna’s team, Peter Sagan and Daniel Oss. This win came out of nowhere. The 24year old was full of emotion after the race wiping his tears with his hands showing just how much the win meant to him.

Meanwhile, in general classification, Primoz Roglic leads everyone and the 40 seconds gap between him and Tadej Pogacar means the Slovenian still holds the yellow jersey while Rigoberto Urán of Columbia is at third.
