Abu Dhabi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Rahul Tripathi was reprimanded for breaching the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday (October 18) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

“Tripathi admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.3 of the Code of Conduct,” the IPL said in a statement. The organisers did not, however, furnish the nature of the offence. “For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.”

KKR won the match via Super Over after the scores were tied at the end of the regulation 20 overs. Opening the batting for KKR, Tripathi scored 23 off 16 balls and framed a 48-run stance with Shubman Gill before getting wiped by SRH’s left-arm medium-fast T Natarajan.

However, Tripathi has already made two remarkable contributions for KKR in the 13th edition of IPL, one is opening the batting and another one is batting at No.7.
