Khassa Camara signs for NorthEast United FC ahead of ISL 2020-21

Guwahati: NorthEast United FC announced the signing of French-Mauritanian Khassa Camara on Thursday (September 24) ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL).

“This is going to be my first experience in Asia, and I would like to thank the club for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this team. I cannot wait to get started on the pitch and will look to deliver the goods for the club and its amazing fans,” Camara said. 

The 27-year-old defensive midfielder has 35 appearances for Mauritania and has spent the last five seasons in Greece spending a season at GS Ergotelis and then the next four at Ao Xanthi. An active international for his country, Camara last featured in national colours at the 2019 edition of the African Cup of Nations. He is a versatile player who can also play as a central midfielder or at right-back.
