Kochi: Indian Super League (ISL) side Kerala Blasters have issued their statement on the ban from signing players in the upcoming transfer window by FIFA.

The ban was handed by the global governing body of football after a complaint was issued about unpaid salary by former player Matej Poplatnik. As per rules, players can approach FIFA in case they are not paid their wages on time and the global body will then intervene to get things resolved.

“Kerala Blasters Football Club can confirm that all necessary actions have been taken to clear pending obligations with respect to the transfer ban imposed by FIFA on the club” , Kerala stated officially on Tuesday (June 8).

“The club expects to have the required clearance in due time. Further, the club assures all its fans that the ban will not affect the ongoing recruitment of players and preparations for the upcoming season.”

The Kochi based side though can resolve this issue by paying the dues to the player and ban will be lifted immediately once the payment has been officially made as confirmed by FIFA. Apart from them, SC East Bengal was imposed a ban for same however, nothing from the Kolkata giants has been stated officially.
