Dubai: New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is now fit and will be available for the next match of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He missed the last two matches as he was suffering from a quadriceps injury which he sustained during training sessions for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

Speaking about his fitness, Williamson said, “Body’s pretty good. A small niggle early, but fine at the moment. A pivotal moment, hopefully, we can get a wicket quickly and it’ll get us right back into the match. We have had a lot of time off, the opportunity to get into the gym. We always deal with these little things and try to get on top of them sooner.

“Yeah, available, ready. I guess it’s always the balance between the players you want to pick, the areas you want to address and the surfaces that you are presented with and the opposition.”

Speaking about Saturday’s (September 26) match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Williamson said, “The guys have put a competitive first total, probably a few short. Lot of cricket left in this game.”

The conditions and grounds of this year’s IPL are completely different than what it used to be in India. Williamson said about how tough it is to adapt with the grounds. “We’ve seen a couple of high scores recently, playing on just three grounds, the wickets will age, teams will have to adapt quickly. We’ll have to play what’s in front of us. Every ground is different, it’s great that we are here and we are able to get some cricket for all the fans,” he added.

The Orange Army will next play on September 29 against Delhi Capitals in Abu Dhabi.
