Kolkata : English white Ball captain and former Rajasthan Royals Batter has penned down emotional message following not being retained ahead of IPL 2025 auction, speculating a permanent parting ways.

Rajasthan Royals announced their retention list with – Dhruv Jurel, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shimron Hetmyer, Sandeep Sharma (Uncapped) as the ones amongst retained. They’ve 1 RTM card remaining with notable names like Jos Buttler, Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Ashwin being left out.

The Men in Pink bought Jos Buttler in 2018 season and he has been an integral part of Rajasthan Royals top order since then. He has been a lone warrior several times when the team was about to fall and is marked by historic IPL 2022 season where he single handedly guided the team to final. Last year he scored 359 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 140.78, including two centuries. However, shockingly, RR choose Hetmyer and other Batters ahead of Buttler.

Speculating it as a permanent parting of ways with the franchise Buttler has been representing for 6 years, he wrote in social media, “If it turns out that this is the end, thank you Rajasthan Royals and everyone involved with the franchise for 7 incredible seasons together. 2018 kickstarted the best years of my cricketing career and many of my most cherished memories have come in a Pink shirt over the last 6 years. Thank you for welcoming me and my family with open arms. Could write so much more but let’s leave it there”.
