Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur FC of the Indian Super League (ISL) has signed Scottish midfielder Greg Stewart for the upcoming season, the club announced on Sunday.

The 31-year-old was part of the Rangers squad that went the entire 2020-21 Scottish Premiership season unbeaten to lift the title under manager Steven Gerrard.

“I am so excited to see what this season has in store for us. It’s a new adventure for me and one I am really looking forward to.” Stuart added on the move.

“It’s going to be an amazing experience to work under Owen Coyle and give everything on the pitch to get silverware for Jamshedpur. Just can’t wait to get started”, the Scottish further stated.

At Rangers, Stewart shared the field alongside the likes of former Jermaine Defoe, Glen Kamara, and Alfredo Morelos. Having started out his senior career at Cowdenbeath FC before having spells with various across Scotland and England most notably with Dundee United in his homeland as well as English championship side Birmingham City making a total of 355 club appearances in his career.

Owen Coyle, Jamshedpur’s head coach opened up about the new signings qualities which he could bring to the table for the new season. “We were looking for a versatile and creative midfielder in the market to complete a menacing group of attacking players for our squad. Greg fit into that criterion perfectly.” Coyle said in his statement.

He comes with the exemplary experience of playing in the biggest leagues across the UK. And of course, he had an amazing opportunity to play for one of the Glasgow giants which shows he has a strong and winning mentality. ”The fans can expect a lot of chances to score goals from Jamshedpur this season.” The gaffer further stated.
