London: Jack Wilshere revealed his wishes to hold a conversation with current Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta after the latter claimed the doors of Emirates to be ‘always open’ for familiar faces.

Wilshere has been out of playing since leaving Bournemouth and had even revealed to have been affected a lot negatively without play time. Arsenal boss, on hearing had instantly sent out an invite for the former Gunner stating, ‘doors are always open’ for him.

“He is someone that I know who I shared the dressing room with, someone who is so loved around the club with every person here and our doors are always open.” said Arteta.

Wilshere was overwhelmed with the invitation , and readily agreed to hold a meeting with the boss over potential return to the club.

“I spent the majority of my life in that club, I gave a lot to that club.” said the 29-year old.

“To hear the manager – who I played with, who I had a good relationship with, I really enjoyed playing with him, sharing the dressing room with him – to hear him come out and say the door is always open is nice.”

Pressed on whether he will take up an invitation, Wilshere added: “It can only help me.

“Being around good players, training with world-class players and as well just being in a team environment is something I’m interested in.

“I’m sure that I’ll have a conversation with someone at the club over the next couple of days.”

Wilshere had joined the club at the age of eight and since making his senior team debut in 2008, he had made 197 appearances for the London side finding the net 14 times. He had even been honoured as the Gunners’ Player of the Year as well as PFA Player of the Year in 2011 before injuries halted his way to a successful career. Given the history of the player with club , the gesture of the boss for his former compatriot was a sheer action of generosity that garnered a lot of positivity.
