Manchester: Jack Grealish scored his first goal for Manchester City at Etihad Stadium, as the defending champs thrashed Norwich City 5-0 on Saturday in the Premier League. Earlier, the Pep Guardiola-coached side had lost their opening league encounter to Tottenham Hotspur.

City got the lead after Norwich scored an embarrassing own goal when the ball went off Tim Krul after a failed clearance from defender Grant Hanley. Grealish, who moved from Aston Villa for a record transfer of 100m pounds, doubled the lead in front of the home crowd on 22 minutes.

Guardiola started the match with Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez on the bench, although both of them came on during the second half and registered their names in the scoresheet. Aymeric Laporte also scored for the Citizens.

Grealish also became the first English player since 2014 to score on the very day of his home debut. Elsewhere at Anfield, Diogo Jota (18th) and Sadio Mane (69th) helped Liverpool dump Burnley 2-0.

Jurgen Klopp’s men stretched their unbeaten run to 12 games which started late last season. Anfield was packed for the show, as Liverpool did justice to the crowd. Burnley, who defeated Liverpool at home last season failed to repeat the same despite of putting a valiant fight.
