Goa: Hyderabad FC put on a dominant display to beat Odisha FC 1-0 in the ongoing Indian Super League(ISL) at the GMC Stadium in Goa on Monday(November 23). Andriane Santana was the sole scorer of the game from the penalty spot for the away side.

Hyderabad FC lined up in a formation 4-2-3-1 with Odei Onaindia and Akash Mishra at the heart of defence ahead of goalkeeper Subrata Paul. Lluís Sastre and Hitesh played as a double pivot with Aridane Santana, Nikhil Poojary, and Halicharan Narzary sharing the frontline.

Hyderabad started well playing in a calculative way hoping to attack straight from the word go. It led to a goal for Hyderabad, when Narzary’s shot got deflected off defender Steven Taylor’s arm resulting in a penalty which was taken precisely by Santana.

In the second half though, Odisha tried hard but could not find any opening for them while Hyderabad were constantly creating chances but couldn’t get more than just one and even though they scored a goal off a header from Odei, that was called off because of offside. Both the Hyderabad wide men in front were causing havoc in and around that Odisha box. In the end, the visitors went home with all three points.

Hyderabad FC will now face Bengaluru away on November 28.
