Mumbai: Following their second win in three matches on Friday, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad ascended to the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 points table. KKR successfully chased down Punjab Kings’ goal of 138 runs, winning by six wickets with more than five overs to spare at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
While Umesh annihilated the PBKS batting with a four-wicket haul, Russell displayed his intergalactic finishing abilities to go undefeated on 70 runs off 31 balls. In light of these great players’ all-around dominance, KKR shared a humorous meme from the movie ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’ to celebrate Umesh for his 4/23 in four overs, which featured a maiden.

Umesh took four wickets, including PBKS skipper Mayank Agarwal, Liam Livingstone, Harpreet Brar, and Rahul Chahar. Umesh’s outstanding performance also helped him grab the lead in the Purple Cap race. He leads the wicket-takers with eight dismissals thus far in the competition.
Russell’s great knock, on the other hand, enabled him to earn the Orange Cap with 95 runs in three matches. KKR will next face Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 6 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
