Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo added another feather to his cap on Thursday (March 31, 2022), as he became the all-time leading wicket-taker in the history of Indian Premier League.

Bravo has overtaken former Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga, who has 170 IPL wickets to his name in 122 matches for the Mumbai Indians.
Bravo now has 171 wickets to his name in 153 IPL matches. Bravo and Malinga are followed by Amit Mishra (166), Piyush Chawla (157) and Harbhajan Singh (150) in top-five wicket-takers’ list.

Bravo achieved this feat during the clash against Lucknow Super Giants at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. The 38-year-old picked up his 171st wicket when he dismissed LSG batter Deepak Hooda for 13 runs in the in the 18th over of the Lucknow innings.

Talking about the game, KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants registered their first win in the IPL. All thanks to Evin Lewis’ 23-ball 55 and Ayush Badoni’s nine-ball 19, as Lucknow chased down a big target of 211 in 19.3 overs against Chennai Super Kings to register a six-wicket win at Brabourne Stadium.

Chennai Super Kings will now be facing Punjab Kings on Sunday (April 3) while Lucknow Super Giants will be going up against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday (April 4).
