IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians overpower lacklustre Rajasthan Royals

Chennai: Delhi Capitals will look for redemption against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday (April 20) after Rohit Sharma’s side beat them in last year’s final to clinch the title. Despite Mumbai’s upper hand on Delhi in head-to-head, Rishabh Pant & Co. are determined to settle the scores as both sides will come into this game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on the back of a win.

After a horrendous loss at the hands of RCB in the season opener, Mumbai returned in winnings ways claiming a couple of victories. In the last game though, The trio of Rahul Chahar (3/19) Trent Bout (3/28) and Jasprit Bumrah(1/14) showed great resilience bundling Sunrisers Hyderabad out for 137 after Kieron Pollard’s 22-ball 35 got themselves to a below-par 150/5.

Whereas Delhi after a disappointing bowling performance came back well with Shikhar Dhawan (92) smashing them to victory against Punjab Kings. The struggling middle order is a concern for Mumbai. Though Pollard got some quick runs last time around, but with Delhi having the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Avesh Khan running at them, the rest of them need to step up in Tuesday’s game in order to add a finishing touch to the innings.

Skipper Rohit looked in good touch in the last game which is a positive for the defending champions. However, it’s their bowling that got themselves desired results. Chahar is probably the most improved player this season for them taking seven wickets in the three games. Bumrah despite not having much in the wickets bracket has been hard to put away by the opposing batters but they will have to careful against the in-form star-stacked opposite batting line-up.

As for Delhi, their bowlers have been quite expensive in the death over which they need to tune up but still Avesh Khan’s emergence as a good young fast bowler added so much value to their gameplan. With the absence of Anrich Nortje, Englishman Chris Woakes performed fairly well in these humid conditions while Shaw’s return to form is added bonus for his side giving them a good start alongside the red-hot Shikhar Dhawan.
