IPL 2020: Social distancing done right; Rohit Sharma catches up with KKR pals

Dubai: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises are sweating it out in UAE for the 13th edition of IPL, which is scheduled to begin from September 19. Due to the rising number of cases of the deadly coronavirus, where the mask and social distancing are the new norms.

The players who are participating in IPL 2020 and all the staffs are no different. They are also following social distancing and avoiding unnecessary gatherings. In a display of COVID-19 protocols being followed in UAE, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma caught up with Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Kuldeep Yadav and coach Abhishek Nayar during a net session in Abu Dhabi.

The players were seen interacting with each other but from a safe distance, separated by barricades. Sharing the video on their official twitter handle, KKR wrote, “Social Distancing 101 – @abhisheknayar1, @imkuldeep18, catch up with @ImRo45 at training, but with a ‘new-normal’ twist!”

In the video, Rohit was heard reminding the others about social distancing, saying Nayar ‘Iske aage matt aana’ (do not come ahead of this) before their conversation began. Both MI and KKR are undergoing their training session for IPL 2020.

MI is ready to begin their title defence against Chennai in the opening match of IPL 13th in the UAE. While KKR will play their first match of the season against the defending champions on September 23.
