New Delhi: In a major setback for India, allrounder Ravindra Jadeja, has been ruled out of the ongoing Test series against England. Jadeja dislocated his thumb while batting in Sydney against Australia last month. He was also ruled out of the Brisbane Test.

Reportedly he was sent to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) after his return to India. However, it was believed that the all-rounder would be fit for the last two Tests of the England series, but now it is learned that he will be taking a longer time than expected to recover.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, Jadeja would have travelled to Ahmedabad to kickstart his quarantine before making a much-anticipated comeback to the Test squad. Whether he will be fit for the white-ball matches against England is also not clear.

With the 227-run win, England climbed up to the first spot on the World Test Championship table. The tourists are 1-0 up in the ongoing four-match series. England and India will play the 2nd Test at the same venue in Chennai starting from Saturday (February 13).
