Kolkata : According to Invitation for Expression Of Interest (IEOI) from Asian Cricket Council, India and Bangladesh are set to host 2025 & 2027 Asia Cups respectively.
India last hosted Asia Cup in 1990-91 edition where they emerged victorious. However, since then India haven’t hosted any Asia Cup.
However, after 34 years they’re set to host the Asia Cup yet again in 2025 which will be played in T20I format , keeping in mind the T20 WC next year at Indian soil.
Similarly, Bangladesh, who last hosted Asia Cup in 2016 will host it in ODI format in 2027, keeping in mind the ODI World Cup in the same year.
India are most successful team in Asia Cup history with 8 titles. They’re also the defending titles & a home tournament will give them favourable opportunity to defend it.
