Bangalore: Team India vice-captain KL Rahul is all set for the England tour. He was ruled out of the South Africa series with a groin injury and panic set in on whether he will be available for England tour. However, putting all concerns aside and sending a positive message to Indian fans, Rahul will depart for England on June 19 with Rahul Dravid and others.

Rahul joined the NCA rehab centre and is currently “recovering well”. “He is recovering well. His injury is not as bad as it seemed. He has started rehabilitation at the NCA and as per the physios, he can be fit within two weeks before the warm-up match,” a member of the selection committee told InsideSport.

While it was initially envisioned for Rahul to go with the first group, along with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, there has been a change. He will remain in Bengaluru to heal before departing with the second group on June 19.

“The plan was to send him to England early with the first batch. But as he is recovering well and already in Bangalore, he will leave with the rest of the squad on June 19,” the source added.
