Goa: After two consecutive losses, FC Goa came back stronger in the Indian Super League, with last minute goal from Igor Angulo to settle the matter 2-1 against Jamshedpur FC, in Tilak Maidan in Vasco. Angulo scored a brace while Stephen Eze was the scorer for Jamshedpur.

The match was very important for both the teams before the Christmas break. Goa was looking for a comeback after two back to back defeats. For Jamshedpur, it was to carry on with their unbeaten run. The match started at a full pace as Jamshedpur was playing better football from the first minute. Goa was finding it difficult to keep up with the pace.

Eze scored the opener in the 33rd minute after a Hector Monroy free-kick was played into the box. Juan Ferrando was under pressure after the last match against Chennaiyin FC, so it was important how he will shape up his team and the team came back in some form in the second half.

Jorge Ortiz Mendoza maybe played the best game for Goa this season. His thrust with Brandon Fernandes and Edu Bedia helped Goa to earn a penalty in the 64th minute of the match. Angulo scored from the spot to put Goa on level terms.

They got enough opportunities to score and take the lead but were failing to do so. On the other hand, Jamshedpur had moments with Nerijus Valskis’s shot hitting the cross-bar and went out. Alex Lima’s shot went inside the line and came out but the referee didn’t allow the goal. Certainly a poor decision from the officials.

In the added-on time, Goa earned a corner and their Spanish talisman headed in to help his team win the match.
