Igor Angulo, Roy Krishna hog limelight with ISL 2020-21 top honours

Goa: Mumbai City FC emerged as the new champion in the Indian Super League season seven after their 2-1 victory over ATK Mohun Bagan on Saturday at the Fatorda Stadium. With the Indian football season came to an end, these are the players who have won the individual awards this season.

Golden Ball – Igor Angulo (FC Goa)

The Spaniard came into the club as a replacement to Ferran Corominas and had a stellar first season in Indian football. He scored 14 goals for the Gaurs and has been crowned as the Golden boot winner for season 7.

Golden Ball – Roy Krishna (ATK Mohun Bagan)

He was the man for the Mariners this season. Despite their loss in the final against Mumbai the Fijian was talismanic for the Kolkata club. He scored 14 goals and assisted eight times this season and certainly rose up for the club on important occasions. He was awarded the Golden Ball or the Hero of the League.

Golden Gloves – Arindam Bhattacharya (ATK Mohun Bagan)

He had a terrific season under the Mariners’ goal but one bad day in the final cost them the trophy. He had 11 assists throughout the season most by any goalkeeper in the league and was awarded the Golden Gloves.

Emerging Player – Lalengmawia (NorthEast United FC)

This 20-year-old had a stellar season for the Highlanders this year. His ability to adapt was prolific to say at least. His goal against Kerala Blasters was one of the best goals of the season.
