India won by 110 runs over Bangladesh, keeping them in contention for a semifinal position at the ICC Women’s World Cup on Tuesday. Yastika Bhatia’s tenacious half-century and Sneh Rana’s all-around performance helped India to claim a dominating victory.
India chose to bat and recovered from a mid-inning collapse to record a modest 229 for seven, thanks to Bhatia’s prudent 80-ball 50 and late flourishes from Rana (27) and Pooja Vastrakar (30). The spinners, led by Rana (4/30), who were defending the total, kept the game under control by striking at regular intervals. India won their third game of the tournament by dismissing Bangladesh for 119 runs in 40.3 overs. India’s Net-Run-Rate (0.768) increased as a result of the massive win.
