Mumbai : India crush Sri Lanka by 302 runs at Wankhede Stadium to book their place in semi final.

Defending 358 runs, Indian bowlers ruthlessly demolished Sri Lankan batting. Jasprit Bumrah set up the momentum by striking in the 1st delivery of the innings.

Mohammad Siraj continued his fine form against Sri Lanka, picking 3 wickets.

However, Sri Lankan chase lost all it’s hope with the introduction of Mohammad Shami. He not only picked a fifer but also became the highest Indian wicket taker(45*) in World Cup .

India rattled Sri Lanka at 55 runs, clinching the match by 302 runs.

Earlier with the Bat, despite losing Rohit Sharma in the 1st over India dominated Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli (88) and Shubman Gill (92) built a 189 runs stand to erase the pressure.

Later Shreyas Iyer (82) & Ravindra Jadeja’s (35) valiant efforts took India to a massive 357 runs. Dilshan Madhushanka was the only stand out Sri Lankan bowler picking 5 fer.

India recorded their 7th consecutive win to qualify for the Semi final. They’ll next face South Africa at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 5th November. Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh on 6th November in Delhi.
