Ahmedabad : Devon Conway , Rachin Ravindra brutalized England at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium with their respective tons in the 1st World Cup game. New Zealand clinch a 9 wickets win over England.

Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra made a mockery of England bowling with an attacking approach, adding a mamath stand of 273 runs unbeaten partnership . Devon Conway scored 152* , whereas, Rachin Ravindra an unbeaten 123* . The duo raced New Zealand to the finishing line in just 36.2 overs.

Earlier, in the 1st Innings, England’s Batting started pretty well with Jonny Bairstow milking the New Zealand pace attack. England tried to apply a “Bazball” approach in this format, but, it backfired. Apart from Joe Root’s anchoring 77, no batter stood a chance against New Zealand.

The Kiwi pacers taking advantage of loose shorts, turned things in their own favour, restricting England to just 282 runs, which they chased easily.

Rachin Ravindra was adjourned the Man of The Match for his heroic ton. New Zealand will now take on Netherlands, whereas, England will face Bangladesh, on 9 & 10th October respectively.
