Goa: Odisha FC will face Chennaiyin FC on Wednesday on the return leg of the Indian Super League season. In the previous encounter, the match ended 0-0 between these two sides from the bottom half of the table.

This match would be important for both the side as both the team would want to kick start the second half of the leg on a good note. Odisha would be determined to get out from the last spot, whereas the two times champion Chennaiyin would be looking to get into the race of top four.

As Diego Mauricio has been in fine form, Odisha has remained unbeaten in their last two matches. The team has been playing some serious attacking football in their last two matches and we might witness a similar kinda thing on Wednesday.

Stuart Baxter looked relieved man after their last two encounters, he wants to win the match and make his team better from where they have been at this moment. “Is the glass half-full or half-empty? I think you can look at it both ways. Whatever it is, it is for both teams. If it is positive, they’ve got just as much positives as we have,” Baxter said.

“The only thing I can say is that it is going to be difficult for both teams. It’s a possibility, yes, when you have these doubleheaders. Sometimes you do change tactics. But we have to look at a fresh set of players, we have to look at the injuries. We have a suspension in Jacob (Tratt). So that is on the table. We will make a final decision later in the evening.”

Chennai on the other hand has been a side who might consider themselves a bit unlucky due to their lack of finishing. Rahim Ali and Yakub Sylvestr missed golden goal-scoring opportunities in their last match against this particular side and have been struggling to score in each and every match.

Coach Csba Laszlo has been under constant pressure as the team hasn’t been performing the way, he wanted and lack of finishing from his team’s forward has been an area of concern for the side.

In the pre-match press conference, he said, “Our biggest problem according to me is actually scoring goals. We create a lot of chances. But somehow we haven’t scored enough goals and if you don’t score goals, it is very difficult to win games.”
