Board member of the club Kestopur Prafullakanan Poschim Adhibasibrinda, Ranjit Chakraborty told Sportslight Media, “This tournament is organised, because we had a friend who was a very good cricketer, Debanjan Sengupta. He died on 2018, we couldn’t organise the match on 2019, to tribute him. We are starting the tournament this year onwards.”

“The tournament was not held for one year, it was not organised last year since that player died, and he was good player. The tournament is 15 to 16 years old. We want people to have a little relaxed moment, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. If anyone wants to see live matches from the ground, they are welcomed, besides we will be doing Facebook live as well,” Chakraborty further added.
