Yes, you heard it right. This might sound strange, but when one does search for Afghani cricketer ‘Rashid Khan wife’ query, search engine giant Google is showing Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma’s name as the result.
Anushka is the wife of Indian and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli and Anushka’s love affair has been one for the ages. After a long on affair, they tied the knot in late 2017. They recently announced their pregnancy on social media platforms.
On the other hand, Rashid, the Afghanistan leg spinner who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL, enjoys huge popularity in India as well as abroad due to his heroics performances. After Anushka’s name on the page, a short bio of Rashid is written followed by his marital status that reads, ‘Married’. The wife’s name is written as Anushka.
However, there is no specific known reason yet why Anushka’s name is popping up as Rashid’s wife. It could be a technical issue. According to reports, the reason seems to be from an interactive session in 2018 when he chatted with his fans on Instagram. In that session, one of the questions asked by fans was who was his favorite Bollywood actresses?
In response to the question, Rashid named Anushka Sharma and Preity Zinta. Thereafter, news outlets reported Anushka Sharma as his favourite actress, as mentioned by Rashid himself. The many mentions by fans all over the internet might have caused the Google search engine to goof up.
Also recently the 22-year-old Afghani cricketer in a chat with Azadi Radio, Rashid said, “I will get engaged & married once Afghanistan win the cricket world Cup.” Maybe this could be the reason why Google is showing this bizarre result. Anushka is currently in the UAE with Virat, who is leading his side Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2020.
