Gambian forward Nuha Marong signs for Rajasthan United ahead of I-League 2022-23

Kolkata: Former Bansundhara King’s forward, Nuha Marong has signed for Rajasthan United this season. He was a part of thr Bangladesh club that edge past Gokulam Kerala in the AFC Cup group stages.

As per sources, “Nuha Marong has signed for Rajasthan United. He will stay at the club till the end of the season.” The signing of the Gambian footballer highlights the focus of the newbies in the I-League. Rajasthan United have qualified last season and are all way up to grab the title this season. Marong will add on an extra pace in the attacks.

Nuha Marong have witnessed the craze of Indian football through the Mecca of Indian football, Kolkata – the city of Joy. Back on 18th May, 2022 when the Bangladesh side played against Maziya Sports & Recreation Club to secure a victory for his side in the first AFC Cup game. Marong scored in the third match to secure a 2-1 victory against Gokulam Kerala FC.

The 29-year-old has played for clubs like Llagostera, Sant Andreu, Elche Ilicitano, CA Osasuna Promesas, Atletico Saguntino, CD Castellon, Atletico Baleares, Racing, Recre Granada, UCAM Murcia, UE Costa Brava and Bashundhara Kings. Out of his total of 242 matches, the forward has scored 49 goals and provided nine assists.

Nuha Marong holds a dual citizenship of Spain and Gambia. He has appeared eight times for the Spanish underage national sides. In March 2019, he made his debut for Gambia and has played four matches for the country since then.
