Huesca: Barcelona defeated SD Huesca 1-0 on Monday (January 4) stretching their unbeaten run to six games in La Liga now. Frenkie de Jong scored the only goal at the Estadio El Alcoraz, from Lionel Messi’s cross in the 27th minute.
Barça dominated the game from the very start, kept possession deep in Huesca territory and constantly moved the ball from side to side to found spaces. Pedri shined yet again and owing to that the Blaugrana managed to create good chances.
De Jong’s efficiency showed improvement in the final third. The return of Ousmane Dembele from injury added more dimension to Barca’s attack completing full 90 minutes. Barça could have scored atleast three times based on the chances they created.
Ronald Koeman won’t have been happy that his side didn’t wrap up the win earlier, given the chances created by them but due to the lackluster finishing by his team. A combination of poor finishing and repeated heroics from goalkeeper Alvaro Fernandez kept the scoreline just 1-0 for the visitors.
