Manchester : English skipper Ben Stokes slammed his hundred against India on Day 4 of 4th Test at Manchester, later Indian skipper Shubman Gill and KL Rahul paved India’s comeback.
England ended Day 3 on 544-7 with Ben Stokes and Liam Dawson at crease.
Jasprit Bumrah picked Dawson (26) early. However, Stokes (141) and Brydon Carse (47) smashed 95 runs partnership.
With 3 sixes and 11 boundaries, Stokes played an iconic knock of 141 (198) before falling to Ravindra Jadeja (4/143) on 658. Carse after some big hits was also dismissed as England finished on 669.
Coming to bowl, Chris Woakes created pressure on Indian Batting line up picking Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan in consecutive deliveries of first over.
However, Indian skipper Shubman Gill (78*) and KL Rahul (87*) fought hard till end of the day, notching unbeaten 174* runs partnership as India end on 174-2 , trailing by 137 runs.
