End of journey for Suresh Raina at Chennai Super Kings?

Jammu: Former Indian batsman Suresh Raina has revealed the biggest clue that his journey with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) might have come to an end. The discussion and controversy appeared last month after he was pulled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 due to personal reasons and returned to India. While no proper reason has been announced about his decision of doing so, the franchise also didn’t disclose anything behind his exit.

However, it seems like everything has been ended between Raina and CSK and that is quite much confirmed from the right-arm spinner’s current activity on Twitter. On Saturday (September 26), he unfollowed the franchise’s official Twitter handle and surprisingly the CSK has unfollowed him too. Though they both still follow each other on Instagram but this Twitter incident has left a question.

On the same day, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan had also eliminated the return of Raina into the squad for the ongoing tournament in UAE. “We cannot look at Raina because he made himself unavailable, and we respect his decision and his space. We are not thinking about it,” Viswanathan told ANI.

Though many reports suggested that Raina was not happy with the room he was given to stay in the UAE compared to the one for captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni and Raina both announced their retirement from international cricket on August 15.

Further things developed when CSK owner N Srinivasan expressed his sorrow over Raina’s decision and hinted that everything was not going well within the camp.“The season has not begun yet and Raina will certainly realise what he is missing and certainly all the money he is going to lose,” Srinivasan had said. “My thinking is that if you are reluctant or not happy, go back. I don’t force anyone to do anything … sometimes success gets into your head,” he had further added.

With all these happening, the highly successful franchise of IPL has been through various confusions and questions which is very disappointing. As far as CSK are concerned, they are clearly feeling the absence of Raina in the middle-order and have already lost two of three games in the tournament so far. Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh too pulled out of this year’s IPL due to personal reasons.
