Kolkata : In a dramatic finish, Diamond Harbour clinched a stunning 2-1 victory over Mohammedan SC, thanks to Luka Majcen’s last-minute goal in stoppage time. The high-intensity clash, played at Yuvabharati kept the match alive on the edge until the very end.
The game was 1-0 at the halftime in favour of Mohammedan SC (MSC) after Adison T Singh scored a goal at the 36 minutes for MSC. In the 50th minute, Sairutkima of Diamond Harbour FC (DHFC) scores the equaliser and later in the dying minute of the game Luka Majcen of DHFC scored and became the hero of the night. With just seconds remaining on the clock, former Punjab FC player Luka Majcen fired a powerful shot into the back of the net, sparking wild celebrations among teammates.
The win gives debutant Diamond Harbour crucial points in the Durand Cup and keeps their hopes alive for playoffs.
