Washington: Drew McIntyre defeated Randy Orton at SummerSlam on Sunday to retain his WWE Championship title. At the end of this rough and tough competition in which both were completely filled with blood, ‘The Viper’ winced out of the way of the Claymore Kick and stared to hit an RKO. But, McIntyre responded with a backslide and won the match.

Orton had been causing trouble at RAW since the last few months, and when he finally cleared that he planned to take his direction of destruction towards McIntyre and the WWE title, the champion didn’t turn down the challenge and instantly accepted it for SummerSlam.

The Viper harassed McIntyre over the fact that lately he got fired from WWE and also conceded that he should also have got fired numerous times for his past actions but it had never happened to him because of his value at the company is more than he can ever achieve.

McIntyre slashed an exciting promo about hopping from a low point in his career and ultimately achieving the WWE Championship. He also made it very clear that he will never lose his title to Orton.

One can clearly debate on this topic that Orton had been in the most outstanding role during his career when he entered SummerSlam on the basis of his match quality, promos, and the exhilarating nature of his fights.

Orton’s clash with Edge turned the cards as they fought in great matches against each other at both WrestleMania 36 and Backlash. They had also slashed incredible promos on a weekly basis and did an excellent job of intertwining their past with their present.

Orton also put The Rated-R Superstar on the ledge at Backlash and then began to surround the Legend Killer gimmick who had first assisted him to rise to fame at WWE. After he banished Edge at Backlash, he also kicked out the fondness of Christian and Big Show on RAW.

He even bent so low so as to kick out the WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair despite the fact that he was 71-year-old who was his greatest supporter and someone who had always supported him and treated him like his own son.

Orton called The Nature Boy his weakness who forced him into a match with Kevin Owens on RAW and charged him of always wanting the spotlight. He called Flair a doper for the rush of being in the WWE ring just in the same way he had said to Edge before and then pushed him on the ledge.

Furious McIntyre hustled Orton off after the vicious act and looked as if he was waiting for a long time to teach him a lesson at SummerSlam. The Scottish superstar actually did that by defending the WWE Championship and the match was the biggest match of his career besides his clash with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 in the month of April.

Although Orton lost this match and didn’t become a world champion for the 14th time in his whole career, he is still a very big threat to Raw, and he is more likely to become the champion again maybe not now but real soon.
