Manchester: A dramatic climax to an absolute thriller was seen in full fledge as Manchester United drew 3-3 with Everton in a goal-fest in Premier League at the Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester on Saturday(February 6).

Edinson Cavani, Bruno Fernandes and Scott Mctominay scored one each for the Red Devils while Dominic Calvert-Lewin netted a brace along with Abdoulaye Doucouré adding one for the visitors.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set up his side in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Victor Lindelof being paired with Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence. Scott McTominay along with Paul Pogba formed a double pivot in the midfield.

Cavani led the forward line alongside Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford with Bruno Fernandes playing as a no.10 behind them. Both sides started the game with great intensity going toe to toe creating chances for them.

Cavani headed it home from close range to open the scoring after Marcus Rashford dinked one into the box for the Uruguayan. United extended the lead before half time through Bruno Fernandes. The talismanic midfielder’s majestic long-range effort found the net giving Everton goalkeeper Robin Olsen absolutely no chance.

The visitors however, didn’t lose hope and got one back just after the second-half resumed. Doucouré arrived in the box at the right time to slot it on the rebound after an initial save from David De Gea to Calvert-Lewin’s cross.

Chances flourished from both sides as it was an end to end action in the rest of the half. James Rodriguez made 2-2 drilling it hard and low into the bottom corner of net from inside the box. The defence of the Red Devils again lost their composure in the later parts of the game.

Scott Mctominay put the hosts ahead again heading it home from a swerving delivery by Luke Shaw. Rashford had a golden chance to seal the deal from a close range but his shot went over the bar.

With time running out Calvert-Lewin emerged as saviour for the visitors. Lucas Digne curled one into the box from a set-piece which Michael Keane flicked it in the path of the Everton no.9 who slotted it home to deny Red Devils a victory sharing points.
