Vadodara : Delhi Capitals defeated Mumbai Indians by 2 wickets in WPL 2025 2nd Match at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara in last Ball thrilling encounter.

Delhi, bowling got 2 early breakthroughs as pacer Shikha Pandey made Mumbai openers – Yastika Bhatia & Hayley Matthews on 32 runs.

Veteran Nat Sciver Brunt (80*) & skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (42) notched up important 73 runs partnership. After Kaur’s departure, MI kept losing wickets from other end despite Brunt scoring runs from other end. Their innings ended on 164 (19.1).

Delhi chasing 165 runs saw Shafali Verma (43) giving quick fire start. However, after 60 runs opening stand, they lost quick 4 wickets in next 16 runs.

Niki Prasad (35) formed vital partnerships with Alice Capsey (16) & Sarah Bryce (21). However, Capsey and Bryce didn’t last long.

The equation came down to 21 runs needed off 2 overs, where despite losing Shikha Pandey, Radha Yadav (9*) smashed an important 6 in last ball of 19th over, and 10 being required off last over.

In the penultimate over of Sajana, Prasad smashed a boundary and 2 runs in first 2 Balls, but lost her wicket when 2 runs were required off 2 Balls.

In last Ball, no 10 Batter Arundhati Reddy played the last Ball of innings towards covers, and nearly got in for her 2nd run, closely saved from run out and won the first match for Delhi Capitals.

Prasad was adjourned player of the match.
