New Delhi : Hockey India’s high performance director David John has resigned from his designation just days after his contract was renewed by the sports ministry of India until 2021. John worked as the high performance director since the end of 2016, it was his second term with Hockey India.
He has sent his resignation to both Hockey India and Sports Authority of India, though HI accepted his resignation but the SAI is yet to respond, according to sources.
The Hockey India didn’t pass any comments and John didn’t stated anything on his resignation.
John was appointed at a monthly salary of $12,000 and has been working from home since the middle of March in Delhi amidst the pandemic but he was asked to attend to the Hockey India office everyday and make trips to the training centers around the country in which he was not comfortable as it posed health risks. Then he decided to quit as there was difference of view over this issue according to Times Of India.
