Cristiano Ronaldo apologises to fan after losing ‘temper’

Liverpool: Cristiano Ronaldo apologized for breaking a fan’s phone after the match against Everton at Goodison Park. A video surfaced on social media after Manchester United went down 1-0 against Everton on Saturday ( April 9).

United’s struggle continued as their hopes to finish Top 4 in the Premier League received a major setback after they lost against relegation battling side, Everton. Ronaldo’s underwhelming season after his much talked about “homecoming” continued as he failed to create any impact during the game against Everton.

A video surfaced on social media where it was found Ronaldo crashed a fan’s phone who was trying to film the Manchester United players walking back to the dressing room after full time. After the video was shared, Manchester United said they were looking into the matter.

This outburst is not the first time for Ronaldo, whose infamous incident of throwing off Portugal’s captain armband during the World Cup Qualifiers 2022 against Serbia, garnered much criticism. A multiple incidents of such temper loss is known.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo who is idolized by many across the world came upfront and apologized to the fan for breaking his phone and even invited him to watch a game at Old Trafford. Ronaldo took to social media to come clean and apologize.

He wrote: ” It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, and patient and set an example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game. I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship.”
