Champions League: Manchester United visit Atletico Madrid; Benfica to host Ajax

Diego Simeone led Atletico Madrid will be hosting Manchester United in Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano today.Both the teams are heading onto the matchday with red hot form. Atletico had won their previous La Liga encounter 3-0 while the Red Devils won 4-2 against Leeds in their weekend fixture.

Atletico Madrid might start with Jan Oblak between the sticks, further guarded by Vrsaljko, Gimenez, Stefan Savic and Reinildo Mandava. Marcos Llorente, Koke, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Angel Correa will be in the midfield supporting the Joao Felix-Luis Suarez duo in the attack.

The Spaniard David De Gea will be goalkeeping with the back line of Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw. Frank McTominay, Paul Pogba; Elanga, Bruno Fernandes, Jordan Sancho will crowd the midfield with Cristiano Ronaldo on the go to attack.

 

The Portuguese team Benfica will be visiting Estádio da Luz, to compete with Ajax in the last match of the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Benfica players will be in a tight spot as the likes of Julian Weigl, Nicolas Otamendi, Joao Mario, Rafa Silva and Alex Grimaldo will miss the match.

Benfica’s possible starting lineup can  be Odysseas Vlachodimos in the goal with Valentino Lazaro, Nicolas Otamendi, Jan Vertonghen, Alex Grimaldo in the defense. Rafa Silva, Taarabt, Julian Weigl, Everton Soares will make the midfield. Roman Yaremchuk, Darwin Nunez will be on the attack.

 

Ajax can possibly start with  Remko on the goal with Noussair Mazraoui, Perr Schuurs, Lisandro Martinez and Daley Blind in the defense. Alvarez, Klaassen Antony, Steven Berghuis and Dusan Tadic will be crowding the midfield with Sebastian Haller as the lone striker.
