Madrid: Karim Benzema scored a brace at the Santiago Bernabeu, as the team dominated visitors Shakhtar Donetsk at home once more, gaining a 2-1 victory. On the other hand, Lionel Messi-less Paris Saint-Germain were held in a 2-2 draw by RB Leipzig.

Benzema opened the scoring for the Los Blancos in the 14th minute, scoring his 74th goal in the tournament and the 1000th for the club. Shakhtar Donetsk did find their equalizer before the lemon break itself, however, a 61st-minute strike from Benzema ended the tie with three points for the Los Blancos.

Two goals from Gini Wijnaldum in the 21st and 39th minutes helped Paris Saint-Germain who were without talisman Lionel Messi get ahead of RB Leipzig who opened scoring as early as the eighth minute. However, a very late injury-time goal from Dominic Szoboszlai forced the Paris club to share their points.

Liverpool dominated Atlético Madrid yet again at Anfield to secure a 2-0 win over the 10-men Spanish Giants after Felipe Luis was sent off. Although the goals were scored by Sadio Mané and Diogo Jota but Trent Alexander Arnold was by far the hero of the night.

Sebastian Haller shone brightly as Ajax get their second consecutive win against 10 men Borussia Dortmund after Mats Hummels was given the marching orders. Haller became the second-highest goal scorer of the tournament with seven goals behind Robert Lewandowski who has eight.

In other games of the day, Inter Milan defeated FC Sheriff by 3-1 while Manchester City routed Club Brugge 4-1, and AC Milan were held in a 1-1 draw against FC Porto.
