Kolkata : Mohun Bagan SG hammered Jose Ramirez Barreto coached George Telegraph SC 6-0 with help of Suhail Ahmad Bhat’s hattrick at MBAC Ground Kolkata in CFL 2026 clash. This comes as a revival days after Mohun Bagan’s derby loss in Durand Cup 2026 final against East Bengal and struggling form in ongoing CFL.
Mohun Bagan dominated from the start on their own home ground. Suhail scored the first goal in the 13th minute. He scored from a cross by Kiyan Nassiri. Mohun Bagan scored again seven minutes later. But it was ruled out for offside. However, that was not a problem. Three minutes later, Alex Saji scored the team’s second goal and his first of the season.
George’s suffering did not end there. Team captain Ranojoy Samanta saw a red card in the 27th minute. As a result, they had to play with 10 men for more than an hour. This increased the problem. However, there were no more goals in the first half. Bagan went into the break leading 2-0.
Four more goals were scored in the second half. Sandeep Malik opened the scoring. Abhishek Suryavanshi scored the team’s fourth goal in the 50th minute. Mohun Bagan has re-entered the Kolkata League Super Six competition after winning this match. They are in third place with 16 points from 8 matches. East Bengal is in second place with 17 points from 7 matches.
Bhawanipore Club has stopped the top two leaders of the group. They defeated Bidhannagar Municipal Sports Academy 3-0 on Wednesday. Bhawanipore is at the top with 21 points from 9 matches. The top three teams from both groups will go to the Super Six.
