Kolkata: Calcutta Customs defeated Mohun Bagan Super Giants 1-0 in Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2026 at Mohun Bagan AC Ground, Kolkata.
Despite featuring few senior players like Alex Saji, Dippendu Biswas, Dipak Tangri, etc, Mohun Bagan missed ample chances before conceding a penalty which costed them the game.
Customs regularly kept Mohun Bagan defense busy throughout the game. Sayan Banerjee and other attackers did come near the Customs goal post but failed to convert any chances. Customs made constant attacks but somehow Mohun Bagan defenders stopped them. The first half went goalless.
In Second Half, Mohun Bagan yet again missed series of chances and Customs kept attacking. In 77th minute, due to a handball foul by Dippendu in the box, Penalty was given in favour of Customs. Rahul Soren converted it easily in 85th minute to give 1-0 lead.
After getting 8 minutes of added time, Mohun Bagan came very near 2 times but failed to convert, with the last one missed in almost an empty goal. As a result, Customs clinched the game 1-0.
Mohun Bagan coach Bastab Roy expressed his disappointment after the game, “We played terrible Football, we created and missed chances, our both wings performed well , came near the goal but main thing didn’t happen. We need to improve these areas”.
