Kolkata, 11 September 2025: Emami East Bengal FC opened their Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2025 Championship Round campaign strongly, cruising to a commanding 3-0 win over United Kolkata SC at a renovated East Bengal Ground this afternoon.

The Red & Golds, who topped Group A with 23 points from 11 matches, showcased their attacking intent once again, extending their winning streak to five matches in the CFL.

EEB found the breakthrough in the first half stoppage time (45+2′) when Aman CK found Naseeb Rahman with a well-timed cross and the latter leapt up to nod the ball in. Although the game looked evenly poised in the early exchanges, the lead shifted the momentum in EEB’s favour.

EEB wasted no time in doubling the lead early in the second half when Vishnu PV delivered a stunning free-kick goal in the 48th minute, curling the ball past the rival custodian from just outside the box.

EEB continued dominating the final third. Their relentless pursuit of extending the lead bore fruit in the 69th minute when Vanlalpeka Guite received the ball at the edge of the box and scored his sixth goal of the current CFL edition with a clinical finish from close range.

Speaking to the media after his side’s 3-0 win, EEB B Team Head Coach Bino George said, “I am happy because we are playing at our home ground after a long time. I would applaud the boys for playing an attacking brand of football. This is the playing style we strive to achieve. We’ll immediately shift our focus to the next game and treat it as another final.”

Emami East Bengal FC will play their second CFL 2025 Championship Round match against Diamond Harbour FC on 14 September, Sunday at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan.
