London – After spending eight glorifying years at the French capital Brazilian veteran Thiago Silva joined Premier League Giants Chelsea on a one year contract deal. The speculations were high after the Champions League final loss to Bayern Munich, as Silva was clear that he was willing to leave Paris Saint Germain and now it’s all in reality.

Silva who had a dream to play in the Premier League stated this after the signing, “I am so happy to be joining Chelsea. I am delighted to be a part of Frank Lampard’s exciting squad for next season and I’m here to challenge for honours. See you soon Chelsea fans, I look forward to playing at Stamford Bridge very soon.”
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said “We are delighted to be able to add a player of Thiago Silva’s proven world-class credentials to our squad. Having performed at the highest level for many years, we have no doubt his experience and quality will complement the many exciting talents we already have here. Thiago will be an excellent fit and we hope he can add some new trophies to his impressive list of honours.”
Silva who was the captain of his former side PSG till his last game won seven league titles, five consecutive Coupes Dey League and five Coupes Dey France at the French capital. He was one of the earliest Qatari signings in PSG, they bought him from AC Milan in the summer of 2012.
