Kolkata : Bhawanipore FC defeated Coal India SPA 3-0 on September 15, 2026, in the Calcutta Football League (CFL) Super Six Championship Round at Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay Stadium, Kolkata.
Bhawanipore who finished Group A undefeated suffered 2-0 loss against Mohammedan SC in very first game of Super 6. On other hand, Group B table topper and debutant Coal India faced 5-1 loss against Mohun Bagan SG in their first Super 6 game. Both came into this vital clash having lost their previous match.
Ieitlang Syiemlieh opened the proceedings for Bhawanipore FC in 29th minute. In 2nd half, Owanijuh Pajuh extended the lead to 2-0. Shyamal Besra gave a finishing touch in 85th minute to end the game with margin of 3-0.
Bhawanipore claimed a dominant victory to secure vital points in the Super Six table, also improving Goal Difference, while the defeat effectively knocked Coal India out of contention after a strong run.
