Gloucestershire: Babar Azam, who is regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world and has been the top-ranked batsman for a while now. However, he has struggled to perform for Somerset in the Vitality T20 Blast.

After his 42 in the first match against Worcestershire, Babar had scores of 6, 0 and 10 in the next three matches. Trolling his poor form in the tournament, Gloucestershire took to Twitter on Monday (September 14) and shared a video, where Babar is seen struggling with the bat against David Payne, captioning it ‘Rankings don’t matter on the pitch.’

On Wednesday (September 16), Babar the Pakistani star bounced back in style with his career-best T20 knock scoring 114 off 62 balls studded with nine fours and five sixes to guide Somerset to a crushing 66-run victory against Glamorgan.

Batting first Somerset put up 183/3 in 20 overs on the back of Babar’s knock. In reply, Glamorgan put up a poor display with the bat and could only manage 117 in 15.5 overs. With the latest defeat, Glamorgan are now out of the contention for the last eight while Somerset have kept alive their chances of quarter-final qualification from the Central Group.
