Goa: ATK Mohun Bagan want to come back into winning ways as they host league’s dark horse NorthEast United FC on the second match of the double header on Sunday (January 3).
ATKMB who are fighting for the top of the table spot are aiming to win this match against Highlander’s as Mumbai City FC has already won their first match of the year on Saturday and jumped to top of the table.
NorthEast on the other hand would like to comeback into winning ways after the team have had the best ever start to their ISL campaign. Most of the players like Ashutosh Mehta, V P Suheer, Britto PM will be very much focused to prove themselves against their former club.
Fijian goal machine Roy Krishna of ATKMB hold a very good scoring record against the Highlanders and would be eager to outshine against this opponent.
Antonio Lopez Habas will be focused and want to start the year with a victory, in the pre match press conference he said, ” I have to analyse the performance of the whole team and not just Roy Krishna in the last matches. The team’s behaviour and performance is 100 per cent. Roy Krishna can score goals but more important is their attitude and overall performance. I would have been worried if didn’t create chances to score but in football, you can do something in one situation and cannot do that in another. In football, all situations are different during the 90 minutes.”
Gerad Nus Casanova will be focused on to start the year with a victory. They will be dependent on Idrissa Sylla for goals. In the pre match press conference, he said, ” “Regarding tomorrow’s game, we know that it is going to be very tough. They are one of hardest teams to play against, no doubt about it. If you see the table, you can see why. No matter what, they will be at the top all this season because they have got amazing players.
